I recently had the opportunity to attend the Paper Writing Academy, and I am pleased to share how beneficial this experience was for me. The course was meticulously structured, offering comprehensive insights into various academic writing aspects, significantly improving my paper-writing skills.

The sessions were engaging and interactive, which helped maintain my interest and enthusiasm throughout the course. The instructor utilized a variety of teaching methods, including group discussions, practical exercises, and real-time feedback, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable.

One of the most helpful aspects was the focus on understanding the proper structure and style of academic papers. I've done the paper-writing course as part of my PhD program. While I have certainly learned a lot during this time, I found the timing of it too tight. It takes eight weeks and ideally one should write a complete paper during this time. The lecturer Gunther Tress did say multiple times that it is not necessary to keep up, but then the meaning of the live support sessions is unfortunately lost and it is strange to watch the videos as they assume that one has kept up with the writing. However, it is not a huge problem, as the participants were allowed to download all lecture videos. In contrary to the aforementioned some of the later videos contain content that is helpful in writing earlier parts of the paper. In summary, I think the course will be helpful when writing my paper, but I don't know when it would be best to do the course or watch the videos.

I visited an online course with few other PhD students from my institute about publishing journal papers. Had a positive experience. The course was well plannend, interactive, and with tons of helpful information I will refer to during my PhD career. Can just recommend.

Thank you so much for arranging the Paper Writing Academy in February and March. I followed each week and attended some of the Live sessions. Because of many other chores, I had to choose a bit what I could prioritise. However, my manuscript is coming along well, and I’m happy to tell that I will have the draft ready about a week from now. It is great that we can access the weekly lessons when it suits best, it has helped me a lot when managing several things in one go.
